Ordinance No. 13

L’Ordinance No. 13, (arrêté no. 13) du Conseil Législatif de l'île Maurice, promulgué le 17 décembre 1846, fixa, entre autres, le tarif postal interne comme suit:

  • 2 pence par demie once (14,175 g) pour le courrier rural.
  • 1 penny par once pour le courrier urbain.

Les nouvelles régulations entraient en vigueur à partir du jour de l'an 1847.

L'article neuf de cet arrêté précise que tout lettre, journal ou colis doit être affranchi avec des timbres poste n'ayant jamais été utilisés et aux valeurs requises.
